GOSA is Gospel Oak School’s parent/teacher association. Every parent, carer, and staff member is automatically a member. It’s one way in which we can all play an active part in school life at Gospel Oak.

GOSA organises events like the annual Winter Fair and social activities like the GO Factor talent show and Quiz Night that help to bring the whole school community together. We also organise fundraising activities, for example cake and ice-cream sales, car boot sales and our annual Fun Run.
The money we raise pays for extra improvement in the school life for the children, such as special play and sports equipment, educational visits from music and theatre groups and plants for the school gardening club. In particular, GOSA contributes to the cost of school outings to make them more affordable for parents. We aim to support the school’s development plan priorities, for instance, a key priority for GOSA is to help save the school’s brass bands which have had their funding slashed through Government cuts. Our target is to raise £50,000 over 10 years.
All GOSA activities are open to people affiliated to Gospel Oak School and we hope you enjoy the activities and events that we organise throughout the year. All our members are welcome to attend the meetings that are held two or three times per term. You can get involved by volunteering and participating at events, or offer to bake a cake or snack for the cake sales. But we also could possibly make use of your contacts and knowledge. We welcome any ideas on how funds can be raised or spent. If you have a good idea or cause you want to support, we will assist in any way we can.
GOSA communicates both through the school newsletter, via email (gosanews@gmail.com) and we have a thriving Facebook page which contains a wealth of local knowledge. (join us here)
Taking part in GOSA activities is a great way to get to know other parents and teachers and make a valuable contribution to the school life of your own children and others’.
If you find you don’t have time to make a commitment to GOSA right now, but would like to make a donation to support our work, you can do so online at this link. You can also help GOSA raise money whenever you shop online by visiting easyfundraising.org.uk to register and shop with over 2000 well known retailers like Amazon, Argos, M&S, eBay and many more. Whenever you buy something, the retailer makes a donation to GOSA, at no extra cost to you. Friends, grandparents and other family members are very welcome to use either of these options too – every contribution helps, whatever the size!
